A major road accident near the Palamuru bypass in Mahabubnagar district claimed five lives after a high-speed sports bike allegedly collided with a car late Sunday night. The latest update from the incident has raised fresh concerns over illegal bike racing activities on the bypass road.
The accident occurred near Palakonda, close to the Pista House bypass road in Mahabubnagar town. According to initial incident details, the sports bike rammed into the car with massive impact, leading to the deaths of two persons on the bike and three occupants inside the vehicle.

Police officials said the family in the car was reportedly returning after attending a wedding function when the accident took place. The deceased in the car were identified as Gausia (30), Ameer (18 months), and Ujefa (8).
Another woman travelling in the vehicle suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Her condition is stated to be critical, according to hospital sources.
Soon after receiving information about the accident, police teams reached the spot and launched rescue operations. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital mortuary for postmortem procedures.
