Hyderabad ORR crash injures Maganti Gopinath daughters
Hyderabad Police probe ORR crash involving ex-MLA Maganti Gopinath’s daughters
A late-night road accident on the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad has left the family of former MLA Maganti Gopinath facing another tragedy. The incident occurred around midnight when a Toyota Fortuner carrying his daughters overturned.
According to initial information, the vehicle lost control and flipped on the ORR stretch. Overspeeding is being considered the primary cause behind the accident.
Elder daughter in critical condition, younger escapes with injuries
Maganti Gopinath’s elder daughter, Akshara, sustained severe injuries in the crash and is reported to be in critical condition. Her health status remains serious as doctors continue to monitor her closely.
The younger daughter, Dishara, suffered minor injuries and is stated to be out of danger. She managed to escape with less impact despite the vehicle overturning.
Emergency treatment underway at AIG Hospital
Both victims were immediately shifted to AIG Hospital in Gachibowli for emergency medical care. Hospital sources confirmed that treatment is ongoing, with priority being given to stabilising the critically injured patient.
Medical teams are continuing intensive care procedures as the situation remains sensitive.
Preliminary findings point to overspeeding
Early assessment of the accident suggests that high speed may have led to the vehicle losing balance. The exact sequence of events leading to the crash is yet to be fully established.
Authorities are expected to examine further details, including road conditions and vehicle movement at the time of the incident.
Context: ORR accidents raise recurring concerns
The Nehru Outer Ring Road has seen multiple high-speed accidents in recent years, often linked to overspeeding during late-night hours. Despite monitoring systems, such incidents continue to be reported periodically.
This latest accident has again highlighted concerns around speed regulation and road safety enforcement on the expressway.
