Telangana Drugs Control Administration Conducts Raid on Fake Doctor Clinic
Officials of the Telangana Drugs Control Administration conducted a raid on a clinic allegedly operated by a fake doctor in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. The action took place in Jadalapet village of Chityal mandal following information about illegal medical practices.
During the raid, authorities seized several types of medicines from the clinic that were reportedly being stored and dispensed without proper authorisation.
Medicines worth ₹45,000 seized during operation
According to officials, around 50 varieties of medicines were recovered from the premises. The seized stock included antibiotics and steroid-based medicines commonly used for treating infections and other health conditions.
Authorities estimated the value of the confiscated medicines at approximately ₹45,000. The medicines were taken into custody as part of the enforcement action conducted by the Drugs Control Administration.
Officials warn about risks to public health
Drug control officials said that individuals without medical qualifications or proper authorisation should not prescribe or sell medicines. They noted that misuse of antibiotics and steroids can pose serious health risks.
Officials stated that unqualified persons dispensing such medicines can lead to improper treatment and may endanger patients.
Investigation into illegal clinic continues
Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway regarding the operation of the clinic. Officials are examining how the medicines were procured and distributed.
The Drugs Control Administration said enforcement actions will continue against illegal medical practices to protect public health in the region.
