Telangana Inter Board Clarifies Exam Paper Mistake
Telangana Inter Board Issues Clarification After Exam Paper Mistake
An error in the Physics Paper-2 question paper during the second-year Intermediate annual examinations created confusion among students on Tuesday. The Telangana Inter Board later clarified the Telangana inter exam paper mistake, stating that the issue occurred in Question 21 of the paper.
The second-year Intermediate examinations were conducted across the state as part of the ongoing annual examination schedule. The discrepancy came to light after students compared the Telugu and English medium question papers.
Question difference between Telugu and English medium papers
The Telangana inter exam paper mistake occurred in Question 21 of Physics Paper-2. In the Telugu medium question paper, two questions were combined under the same question number.
Students were asked to explain the principle and working of a nuclear reactor with the help of a labelled diagram. In addition, another question asked how much energy would be released if one microgram of uranium was completely destroyed in an atomic bomb explosion.
The nuclear reactor question carried 8 marks while the atomic bomb question carried 2 marks.
However, the English medium question paper included only the 8-mark question asking students to explain the principle and working of a nuclear reactor with the help of a labelled diagram. The additional 2-mark question did not appear in the English medium version.
Students write different answers during examination
Due to the Telangana inter exam paper mistake, Telugu medium students attempted answers for both questions. English medium students wrote answers only for the nuclear reactor explanation.
The difference in the question format created confusion among students and teachers during the examination.
Inter Board response on evaluation
Inter Board Secretary Krishna Aditya acknowledged the Telangana inter exam paper mistake and confirmed that an error occurred while preparing the question paper.
He clarified that Telugu medium students need to answer only up to the 8-mark question. The board also stated that evaluators will take necessary precautions during the valuation process so that students are not affected by the error.
Officials said corrective steps would be followed while assessing the answer scripts.
Malpractice cases recorded during exams
Along with the examination process, authorities reported nine malpractice cases on Tuesday. Officials confirmed that the cases were registered during the conduct of the second-year Intermediate examination.
The Intermediate annual examinations are currently being conducted across Telangana with students appearing for various subject papers.
