National Testing Agency Closes NEET UG 2026 Registration Process Today
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration window for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 today, March 6. Candidates who have not yet submitted their application forms are required to complete the process through the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
NEET UG is the national entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate medical programmes across India.
Exam Scheduled For May 3
According to the schedule released by the NTA, NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on May 3, 2026. The examination will be held for a duration of three hours.
The test is scheduled to take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Around 25 lakh students are expected to appear for the examination this year.
Over the past few years, the number of applicants for NEET UG has steadily increased. In 2019, more than 15 lakh students registered, while the figure has now reached approximately 25 lakh candidates.
Application Fee Structure
The application fee varies according to candidate category and exam centre location.
Candidates from the General category must pay Rs 1700 for examination centres located in India.
Applicants belonging to General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories are required to pay Rs 1600 for centres in India and Rs 9500 for centres outside India.
Candidates from SC, ST, PwBD, and third gender categories must pay Rs 1000 for examination centres within India.
Steps To Complete The NEET Application
Candidates who have not yet submitted their forms must complete the registration process through the official portal.
Applicants need to visit neet.nta.nic.in, select the registration link available on the homepage, and create their login credentials.
After logging in with the application number and password, candidates must fill out the application form carefully, upload the required documents in the specified format, pay the applicable application fee, and submit the form. A printout of the submitted application should be kept for future reference.

National Entrance Exam For Medical Courses
