Centre Appoints Shiv Pratap Shukla as Telangana Governor, Transfers Jishnu Dev Varma
The Centre has appointed Shiv Pratap Shukla as the new Governor of Telangana. The decision was issued through official orders as part of a fresh gubernatorial reshuffle announced on Thursday.
Under the same order, the current Telangana Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma, has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.
Change in Raj Bhavan Leadership
The appointment marks a change in leadership at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. Shiv Pratap Shukla will now assume charge as the constitutional head of the Telangana government following the Centre’s notification.
Jishnu Dev Varma had been serving as the Governor of Telangana prior to this decision. With the latest order, he will now move to Maharashtra to take up his new assignment.
Central Government Issues Official Orders
The gubernatorial appointments and transfers were announced through official orders issued by the Centre. Such changes are typically part of periodic administrative reshuffles involving governors across states.
Following the notification, preparations are expected to begin for the formal swearing-in process once the newly appointed Governor assumes office.
The development comes as part of the Centre’s broader administrative decisions concerning constitutional posts in various states.
