Day-wise Earnings Remain Low

According to early estimates, the film earned ₹65 lakh nett in India on Sunday. It had 988 shows across the country with an average occupancy of 16.4 per cent. The film had opened with ₹60 lakh on Friday and showed improvement on Saturday with ₹1.45 crore collections.

With this, the total domestic box office collection of Tu Yaa Main now stands at ₹2.70 crore after three days of release.

Film’s Premise and Production

Released in theatres on Friday, Tu Yaa Main is produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, and Vinod Bhanushali. The survival thriller features Shanaya Kapoor as Avani, also known as Miss Vanity, a social media influencer. Adarsh Gourav plays Maruti, also called Aala Flowpara.

The story follows two influencers whose romantic trip turns into a life-threatening situation after they become trapped in a swimming pool with a crocodile.

Shanaya Kapoor on Career and Role Preparation

Speaking to PTI, Shanaya Kapoor said she aims for a strong audience response in theatres and wants her films to succeed commercially. She stated that the goal of seeing packed cinema halls continues to motivate her work as an actor.

For her role as Avani, Shanaya said she revisited survival thrillers such as Jaws, Crawl, and The Meg. She also participated in an unconventional acting exercise under acting coach Atul Mongia, a technique introduced by co-actor Adarsh Gourav. She noted that observing the movement of black panthers helped shape her character’s body language and screen presence.

Shanaya added that her character Avani carries a sensual and confident persona, expressed more through gaze and subtle expression rather than overt intensity.
