The Chief Minister also acknowledged the efforts of Electricity Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for stepping forward to assist the affected families.
Financial protection schemes highlighted
The Chief Minister said the Rajiv Aarogyasri limit has been enhanced from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh. He added that, as per the CPEC survey, an insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh will apply to eligible families.
He explained that the family insurance initiative was introduced to prevent families from facing financial distress following the death of a household head.
Assembly platform used for cheque distribution

Officials indicated that the initiative was also intended to demonstrate the government’s commitment to employee welfare and financial security.
Special accident insurance for workers
The Chief Minister stated that electricity and Singareni workers have been provided accident insurance benefits exceeding Rs. 1 crore. The scheme has been designed to cover risks associated with duty-related incidents.
He said the programme reflects the administration’s focus on worker safety and long-term support mechanisms for their families.
Compensation handed over to families
Financial assistance was distributed to families of electricity employees who died while on duty. The cheques were handed over by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at the Telangana Assembly.
Two families received insurance cheques of Rs. 1 crore each under the special accident insurance scheme. The beneficiaries include Orsu Suresh from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and Mukhtar Beg from Mahabubnagar district.
