Narketpally Road Accident: Two Bus Drivers Killed on Highway
A fatal Narketpally road accident occurred on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway near Narketpally in the Nalgonda district during the early hours of Tuesday, leaving two bus drivers dead and another person seriously injured.
The accident happened after multiple vehicles stopped on the roadside following a minor collision between a bus and a lorry while overtaking.
Initial Collision Between Bus and Lorry
According to police, the incident took place around 2.30 am on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway near Narketpally.
A Mojo Private Travels bus traveling towards Kakinada and a lorry heading towards Rajahmundry reportedly brushed against each other during an overtaking attempt.

Following the minor collision, both vehicles were stopped on the roadside while their drivers discussed the incident.
Another travel bus passing through the area also stopped. The drivers of that bus, identified as Srinivas and Bangarayya, approached the spot to speak with the drivers involved.
Speeding Lorry Hits Parked Vehicle
During this time, another lorry traveling from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada approached the location at high speed.
The lorry rammed into the parked lorry, resulting in a severe impact in the Narketpally road accident. Four people standing between the vehicles were trapped between the two lorries.
The impact killed bus drivers Srinivas and Bangarayya on the spot.
One Person Seriously Injured
In the same accident, Suresh, the cleaner of the first bus, sustained serious injuries.
Emergency responders and police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the crash. Rescue teams assisted the injured and cleared the accident site.
Police Begin Investigation
Police shifted the bodies of the deceased bus drivers to Nalgonda Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The injured cleaner was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities also moved the three vehicles involved in the accident to the police station and cleared traffic on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway.
Police said an investigation into the Narketpally road accident is underway.
