Telangana Government Approves New Mobile Phones for Anganwadi Teachers
Decision taken to replace outdated devices
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved the distribution of new mobile phones to Anganwadi teachers across the state. The move comes after existing devices provided earlier became outdated and less effective for daily use.
Officials indicated that the replacement is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted data entry and monitoring through the Poshan Tracker system, which is used for maintaining Anganwadi records.
Focus on improving the data management system
Anganwadi teachers are required to update multiple categories of information on a daily basis using the Poshan Tracker application. The existing phones were reportedly unable to support smooth functioning due to age and performance limitations.
To address this, the government has cleared the proposal to supply upgraded devices that can handle the operational requirements of the application without disruption.
Specifications of new devices finalised
According to available details, the new mobile phones will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity. These specifications are expected to support regular usage of the application and ensure faster processing.
The upgrade is intended to help field-level staff carry out digital reporting more efficiently, especially as data requirements continue to increase.
Distribution expected shortly
The government is expected to begin distribution of the new phones soon. Information suggests that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy may hand over the devices within the next ten days.
The rollout is likely to cover Anganwadi teachers statewide, ensuring uniform access to updated digital tools.
Daily reporting requirements remain key
Anganwadi teachers are required to upload around 14 types of data entries each day through the Poshan Tracker app. These include routine updates related to beneficiaries and service delivery.
The introduction of new devices is expected to streamline this process and reduce technical delays in reporting.
