State Government Schedules Foundation Ceremony for Steel Plant in Anakapalli
Major steel project to be launched at Nakkapalli
A large-scale steel plant project is set to be initiated in Andhra Pradesh with the foundation ceremony scheduled for March 23. The project will come up at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district with a proposed investment of Rs 1.35 lakh crore.
The facility is being developed by ArcelorMittal–Nippon Steel and is positioned as one of the biggest industrial investments in the state.
Chief Minister, Union Ministers to attend event
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will take part in the foundation-laying ceremony. Union ministers Kumaraswamy and Ram Mohan Naidu are also scheduled to be present at the event.
The ceremony is expected to formally mark the beginning of construction activities for the integrated steel plant in the region.
Employment and production targets outlined
The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for nearly one lakh people. Officials have indicated that the plant aims to produce 17.8 million metric tonnes of steel annually once operational.
This production capacity places the project among the significant steel manufacturing units planned in the country.
Industrial impact on North Andhra region
The establishment of the steel plant is expected to influence the industrial landscape of North Andhra. The project is likely to contribute to infrastructure development and support allied industries in the surrounding areas.
The investment aligns with broader efforts to expand industrial activity in the region through large-scale manufacturing projects.
