Telangana government presents ₹3.24 lakh crore Budget in Assembly
Deputy CM Bhatti tables 2026–27 financial plan
The Telangana Budget session commenced with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti presenting the 2026–27 Budget in the Assembly, outlining a total outlay of ₹3,24,234 crore.
The budget details allocations across key sectors, including welfare, infrastructure, agriculture, and social development, along with funding for ongoing government schemes.


Major allocations across core departments
Significant allocations have been made to major departments, with ₹26,674 crore earmarked for the education sector and ₹13,679 crore for medical and health services.
The power sector has been allocated ₹21,285 crore, while irrigation projects will receive ₹22,615 crore. Panchayat Raj and rural development have been allotted ₹33,688 crore.
Urban development and municipal administration have been assigned ₹17,907 crore, and the Roads and Buildings department has been allocated ₹12,789 crore.
Welfare departments and social sector spending
The budget provides ₹11,784 crore for SC welfare, ₹7,937 crore for ST welfare, and ₹3,769 crore for BC welfare.
Women and child welfare has been allocated ₹3,143 crore, while the labour department received ₹998 crore. Housing has been assigned ₹7,430 crore under various schemes.
Additionally, ₹1,529 crore has been earmarked for the animal husbandry department.
Focus on schemes and guarantees
A total of ₹50,713 crore has been allocated for the implementation of the six guarantees announced by the government.
Major schemes include ₹18,000 crore for Rythu Bharosa and ₹14,861 crore for Cheyutha. Indiramma housing has been allocated ₹5,500 crore.
Free bus travel for women under the Mahalaxmi scheme has been allocated ₹4,308 crore, while ₹2,080 crore has been set aside for Gruha Jyothi, which provides 200 units of free electricity.
Support for education, youth and institutions
The government has allocated ₹5,000 crore for Young India Integrated Residential Schools and ₹1,000 crore for Osmania University.
Scholarships have been allotted ₹4,343 crore, and ₹2,170 crore has been earmarked for student diet charges.
Further, trainees at 118 Advanced Technology Centres will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹2,000 as per the budget announcement.
Other sectoral allocations and provisions
The IT department has been allocated ₹875 crore, while industries will receive ₹3,490 crore. The handloom sector has been assigned ₹258 crore.
Tourism has been allocated ₹1,224 crore, and ₹500 crore has been set aside for the conduct of Godavari Pushkaralu.
The home department will receive ₹11,907 crore, and ₹2,367 crore has been allocated for the judicial department.
Subsidies and additional welfare spending
The budget includes ₹14,000 crore towards power subsidy and ₹3,000 crore for rice subsidy.
Funds have also been allocated for welfare schemes including ₹3,683 crore for Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak, ₹1,143 crore for Rajiv Aarogyasri, and ₹723 crore for LPG subsidy under the Mahalaxmi scheme.
The government has earmarked ₹1,45,590 crore towards various development and welfare programmes, along with ₹2,323 crore for mandatory administrative expenses.
