Police registered a criminal case after a young woman was allegedly injected with HIV-positive blood by a man following a dispute over marriage in Hyderabad. The incident occurred under the limits of the Pocharam IT Corridor Police Station and triggered concern among residents.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Manohar, a resident of Pocharam. The victim had earlier been engaged to him, but the marriage proposal was later withdrawn after a health issue came to light.
Marriage Proposal Withdrawn After Health Disclosure
Police said the engagement between the victim and Manohar had been recently arranged. However, after the engagement, it came to light that Manohar was HIV positive.
Following this information, the woman and her family decided to withdraw from the marriage proposal. Police said the decision led to tension between the two families.
Investigators said the accused reportedly developed resentment after the proposal was cancelled.
Alleged Injection Incident on March 11
According to police, Manohar visited the woman’s residence on March 11 and again insisted that she agree to the marriage. The victim reportedly refused to change her decision.
Police said the accused had brought a syringe with him and allegedly injected HIV-positive blood into the woman against her will.
After the incident, the victim experienced health issues. Family members immediately shifted her to a hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Medical Tests Reveal Details
Doctors conducted medical tests after the woman was admitted to the hospital. During the examination, the details of the alleged injection incident came to light.
Following this, the victim’s father approached the Pocharam IT Corridor Police Station and filed a formal complaint regarding the incident.
Police registered a case based on the complaint and began an investigation into the matter.
Accused Detained, Investigation Underway
Police said the accused Manohar has been taken into custody for questioning. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the materials used in the alleged attack.
