Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested a man for allegedly posting obscene and defamatory content about film actor Anasuya Bharadwaj on social media platforms. The arrest was made on Friday following a complaint filed by the actor.
Police identified the accused as Janardhan, a native of Jutur village under Pulivendula in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. According to investigators, he had been staying in Indranagar in Gachibowli after arriving in the city.
Objectionable Content Circulated on Social Media
Authorities said the accused allegedly created and circulated posts containing objectionable comments about Anasuya Bharadwaj. The material was shared across multiple social media platforms, including Instagram.
Police stated that the accused had used artificial intelligence tools to create a fake video targeting the actor. The manipulated video, along with offensive remarks, was reportedly circulated online and later went viral on social media.
The posts attracted attention on various platforms, prompting concerns over the misuse of digital tools to create and spread manipulated content.
Complaint Filed With Cyber Crime Police
Following the circulation of the content, Anasuya Bharadwaj filed a complaint with the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Officials began tracking the digital trail of the posts to identify the person responsible for creating and sharing the content. The inquiry eventually led to the identification of Janardhan as the suspected individual behind the posts.
Cyber crime officials subsequently detained the accused and conducted further questioning as part of the investigation.
Investigation Into Digital Content Continues
Police said the investigation is continuing to examine the extent of the online circulation and the methods used to generate the video and posts.
Authorities are also verifying whether the content was shared through additional accounts or platforms. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
Cybercrime officials reiterated that cases involving manipulated digital media and abusive online content are being monitored closely as part of efforts to address misuse of social media platforms.
