Hyderabad Task Force Police Arrest Man in Wife Murder Plot
Hyderabad Task Force police arrested a man who allegedly planned to kill his wife after purchasing a firearm and ammunition from Bihar. The accused was taken into custody along with two others who allegedly helped procure the weapon.
The arrests were made by the City Charminar Task Force following specific information about the planned attack.
Husband allegedly plans murder over suspicion
According to police officials, the accused has been identified as Damara Arun Kumar (48), a real estate businessman from Marutinagar in Malkajgiri. Police said he had developed suspicion about his wife Nishita Rani.
Arun Kumar’s first wife had health issues and the couple had two children. In 2019, he married Nishita Rani, who is the younger sister of his first wife.
Police said Arun Kumar allegedly began suspecting that Nishita Rani had relationships with other individuals. Based on this suspicion, he reportedly decided to kill her.
Weapon procured through contacts
Police stated that Arun Kumar approached Mohammed Abbu, a resident of Jawaharnagar, seeking a firearm. Abbu allegedly arranged the weapon through Mir Mujammil Ali Khan of Yakutpura.
The firearm was reportedly sourced from Bihar. Police said Arun Kumar purchased the country-made pistol for Rs 1.10 lakh.
Investigators said the accused also obtained six bullets and a magazine along with the weapon.
Practice firing alerted police
According to officials, Arun Kumar allegedly planned to carry out the murder on the 9th of this month. Before executing the plan, he reportedly practised firing the weapon at his agricultural land.
Police said the practice firing led to information reaching the authorities. Acting on the input, the Charminar Task Force launched an operation and apprehended the accused.
Arrests and seizure of weapons
Task Force Additional DCP Ande Srinivas and Amberpet Inspector Kiran Kumar confirmed that three individuals were arrested in the case.
Police seized the country-made firearm, six bullets and a magazine from the accused. The arrested persons were later produced before a court and remanded.
Officials also stated that two other suspects, identified as Salman and Tabish, are currently absconding.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace the remaining accused and determine the full details of the illegal weapon procurement.
