She spoke with hospital doctors to understand the condition of the patients and the medical support being extended. The Congress leader also consoled families who lost their relatives in the incident.
According to the information available, 11 people died in the adulterated milk incident, while nine others continue to receive treatment.
Government Accused of Negligence
Addressing the media, Sharmila criticized the state government over the incident and questioned the effectiveness of food safety monitoring in the state.

Demand for Compensation and Food Safety Measures
The Congress leader demanded that the families of the deceased be provided compensation of ₹25 lakh.
She also urged authorities to ensure better treatment for those who are currently hospitalized following the incident.
Sharmila called for strengthening the food safety monitoring system to prevent such incidents in the future.
Questions Raised Over Dairy Regulation

She asked why inspections were not conducted and why regulatory authorities failed to take action earlier.
According to Sharmila, the incident was not accidental but a result of negligence in enforcing food safety regulations.
Political Criticism Intensifies
