Jubilee Hills Police Register Case Against Director Over Obscene Video Allegations
The Jubilee Hills Police in Hyderabad have registered a case against a film director following allegations that he recorded obscene video scenes involving a young woman and later posted them on social media.
The complaint was filed by a 23-year-old woman from Kakinada who had come to Hyderabad in search of opportunities in the film industry.
Woman Approaches Police With Complaint
According to the complaint, the woman had been staying at her friend’s residence in Yusufguda after arriving in the city to pursue acting opportunities.
She alleged that a director identified as Shankar contacted her with an offer to act in a web series and asked her to attend a meeting regarding the role.
Believing the opportunity to be genuine, she agreed to meet him.
Allegations of Video Recording in a Car
The woman told police that Shankar called her for a meeting and later recorded video clips of her in a car.
During the recording, he allegedly asked her to speak obscene dialogues and act out certain scenes, claiming that they were required for the web series project.
The complainant stated that she later discovered the videos had been uploaded to Shankar’s Facebook account.
Family Reaction After Videos Circulated
The videos reportedly reached the woman’s family members after being posted online.
According to the complaint, her parents saw the videos on social media and questioned her after coming across the content.
Following this, the woman approached Shankar and requested that he delete the videos from social media platforms.
Allegations of Blackmail and Further Uploads
Instead of removing the videos, the woman alleged that the director uploaded the same clips on additional social media platforms.
She also accused him of blackmailing her using the recorded content.
Unable to resolve the issue, the woman approached the Jubilee Hills Police Station and filed a formal complaint against the director.
Police Begin Investigation
The police have registered a case against Shankar based on the complaint and initiated an investigation.
Officials said they are examining the allegations and collecting information related to the videos posted on social media.
Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
