Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Issues Directions to District Collectors
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with district collectors and issued a set of administrative directions concerning the implementation of welfare programmes and development initiatives across the state.
The meeting focused on preparations for the 99-day Praja Palana–Pragathi Pranalika programme, scheduled to be conducted across Telangana from March 6 to June 12. Officials reviewed the progress of welfare schemes and discussed measures to improve coordination at the district level.
Focus on Welfare Delivery and Transparency
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed collectors to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of government welfare schemes. He emphasised the need for improved efficiency in the field-level administrative machinery and called for greater transparency in implementation.
Collectors were told to actively communicate scheme benefits to citizens. These include ration cards, fine rice distribution, Indiramma housing, and the 200-unit free electricity scheme.
Revanth Reddy said district administrations must ensure that eligible families are clearly informed about available welfare support.
Gram Sabhas to Strengthen Public Outreach
The Chief Minister suggested using Gram Sabhas as a platform to explain welfare schemes and development programmes to people at the grassroots level. He stated that wider public participation through village meetings would improve transparency and accountability in governance.
Officials were also advised to closely monitor the execution of welfare measures and ensure that implementation gaps are addressed promptly.
Directions on the Education and Health Sectors
The meeting also discussed administrative priorities in the education and healthcare sectors.
Revanth Reddy instructed officials to strengthen government schools and ensure that midday meal scheme bills are cleared on time. He also emphasised the need to integrate hospitals with medical colleges to improve healthcare services in districts.
The review included a discussion on the progress of development works and welfare implementation across various districts.
Warning Over Collector Performance
The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of some collectors during the meeting. He made it clear that district officials must remain accessible to the public and maintain residence at district headquarters.
Revanth Reddy warned that failure to improve performance would invite strict action.
He also directed collectors not to exceed their administrative jurisdiction while implementing government programmes.
99-Day Programme to Involve Local Representatives
The 99-day Praja Palana–Pragathi Pranalika programme will involve participation from village-level institutions to district administrations. Public representatives will be included in the implementation process to strengthen coordination.
The Chief Minister urged officials to meet programme targets within the scheduled timeline. The meeting was attended by several ministers and district collectors from across Telangana.
