India A Posts 188 as Jagadeesan Hits T20 Century
India A Dominate T20 World Cup Warm-up Against USA
India A underlined their batting depth during the second warm-up match for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, piling up 188 for 2 in just 16 overs against the United States of America. The match was played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
USA won the toss and opted to bowl, a decision that quickly backfired as India A’s top order imposed itself from the outset. The run rate climbed steadily, leaving the bowling side under sustained pressure throughout the innings.
Jagadeesan Anchors Innings With Unbeaten Century
Narayan Jagadeesan was the centrepiece of the innings, finishing unbeaten on 100 from 49 deliveries. The wicketkeeper-batter combined control with power, finding gaps early before accelerating decisively through the middle overs.
His innings featured 11 fours and four sixes, with his strike rate crossing the 200 mark. Jagadeesan handled both pace and spin with assurance, allowing India A to maintain momentum without losing wickets in clusters.
Strong Support From Top and Middle Order
Priyansh Arya set the tone at the top with a brisk 28 from 13 balls before being dismissed by Jasdeep Singh. His cameo ensured India A started aggressively, forcing early changes in the USA bowling plans.
Tilak Varma then partnered Jagadeesan in a productive stand, contributing 38 from 24 balls. He struck three boundaries and two sixes, keeping the scoring rate high until his dismissal.
Captain Ayush Badoni joined Jagadeesan later and remained unbeaten on 21, clearing the boundary twice. His presence ensured there was no drop in intensity as India A surged past 11 runs an over.
USA Bowlers Struggle for Control
The USA attack found little assistance from the surface. Jasdeep Singh and Shubham Ranjane claimed a wicket each, but the rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain the scoring.
Milind Kumar and Shadley van Schalkwyk were among those who found it difficult to stem the flow of runs as India A continued to attack. With Riyan Parag, Naman Dhir, and Ashutosh Sharma still to bat, India A looked well placed for a bigger total had the full 20 overs been required.
