OTT Platforms Line Up New Releases for Republic Day Week
Streaming Calendar Fills Up Across Major Platforms
As Republic Day week unfolds, several OTT platforms have lined up a fresh slate of films, series, and shows for viewers. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, and ETV Win are rolling out content across languages, covering cinema, television, and digital-first releases.
The week features a mix of theatrical premieres transitioning to streaming, original series, and regional titles gaining wider reach.
Telugu Short Film Debuts on ETV Win
Golla Ramavva, a Telugu short film, began streaming on ETV Win on January 28. The film is based on a short story written by former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. Talluri Rameshwari plays the central character, with Mullapudi Vara directing the project.
The release adds to ETV Win’s focus on literary adaptations and short-format storytelling.
Hindi Titles Move to OTT After Theatrical Runs
The Hindi romantic drama Gustaakh Ishq, featuring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is set to stream on JioHotstar from January 27. The film, directed by Vibhu Puri, released in theatres in November 2025 but did not register strong box-office traction. The streaming version will be available only in Hindi.
Television and Game Show Launch
Sony TV and SonyLIV are set to premiere Wheel of Fortune (India) on January 27. Hosted by Akshay Kumar, the game show marks his return to television. Promotional material has already generated attention, particularly around the celebrity-led launch episode.
Regional Films Head to Streaming
Roshan Meka’s Champion, which had a mixed theatrical response, will arrive on Netflix on January 29. Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, the film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Ranveer Singh’s spy action drama Dhurandhar is scheduled to stream on Netflix from January 30. The film was among the major box-office performers of 2025. A Telugu dubbed version is expected, though no official confirmation has been issued.
Series and Malayalam Hit Expand Digital Reach
Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Daldal, a psychological crime drama directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 30. The series is adapted from Vish Dhamija’s novel Bhendi Bazaar. Details on regional language versions have not been announced.
Malayalam blockbuster Sarvam Maya, directed by Akhil Sathyan and marking Nivin Pauly’s return, will stream on JioHotstar from January 30, including a Telugu version.
