Police Register Case After Father Kills Two-Year-Old Daughter in Yadadri
Incident Reported in Sansthan Narayanapuram Mandal
Police have registered a case following the death of a two-year-old girl in Lakhammagudem village of Sansthan Narayanapuram mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. The incident involves a domestic dispute that escalated into a fatal act.
The accused, identified as Ravi, was living with his wife Swati and their two daughters, Meghana (2) and Mayuri (9 months), in the village.
Family Dispute Preceded the Incident
According to details, frequent disputes had been taking place between the couple. Around three months ago, Swati left for her parental home, taking the younger child with her, while the elder daughter remained with Ravi.
Ravi had reportedly approached the police seeking custody of the elder child. Following this, discussions were held in the presence of elders involving both families.
Poison Administered Through Fruit
Police said that Ravi, upset over the ongoing dispute and personal issues, allegedly mixed rat poison in a sapota fruit and gave it to his elder daughter Meghana.
After administering the poison, he is reported to have consumed rat poison himself in an attempt to end his life.
Child Dies During Treatment, Father Critical
Family members noticed the situation and immediately shifted both the child and Ravi to a hospital. Meghana died while undergoing treatment.
Ravi’s condition remains critical, according to available information.
Police Begin Investigation Based on Complaint
Following a complaint filed by Swati, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. Officials are examining the sequence of events leading up to the act.
