TTD Case Filed After Tirumala Cake-Cutting Row
TTD Complaint Triggers Case After Tirumala Cake-Cutting Video Sparks Controversy
Cake-Cutting Video at Tirumala Draws Criticism
A controversy has emerged over a cake-cutting incident at Tirumala after a video involving social media influencer and Bigg Boss fame Divvela Madhuri went viral online. The incident took place on the Tirumala hill where Madhuri and Bigg Boss contestant Tanuja were seen cutting a cake to celebrate Tanuja’s birthday.
The video triggered strong reactions from devotees who argued that such activities near the sacred premises of Lord Venkateswara temple violate the spiritual sanctity of the Tirumala shrine. Many expressed the view that temple rules must apply equally to celebrities and ordinary devotees.
Following the backlash, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) filed a complaint regarding the incident. Based on the complaint, police registered a case related to the cake-cutting episode on the hill.
Madhuri’s Clarification on the Incident
Responding to the controversy earlier, Divvela Madhuri stated that the cake used during the celebration was eggless. She also claimed that they were unaware that cutting a cake at that location was against the rules governing activities at the Tirumala shrine.
However, the issue resurfaced after Madhuri made fresh remarks during a television interview on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Her comments during the interview brought Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor into the discussion and triggered a new round of debate on social media.
Janhvi Kapoor’s Name Mentioned in Interview
During the interview, Madhuri questioned why the criticism was directed only at her. She claimed that Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor had previously cut a cake at Tirumala and faced no objections.
The statement quickly attracted reactions online. Several users on social media disputed the claim and stated that there was no evidence to suggest that Janhvi Kapoor had ever cut a cake at Tirumala. Many posts asserted that no such incident involving the actor had been reported earlier.
Viral Tweet Adds to Online Debate
Amid the discussion, reports circulated on social media suggesting that Janhvi Kapoor had responded to the allegations. A tweet attributed to the actor began circulating widely, stating that some people make statements for publicity and that she had never cut a cake in Tirupati. The message also emphasised the need to respect culture, traditions, and places of worship.
Later, it emerged that the tweet did not originate from Janhvi Kapoor’s official account but from a fan page. Despite this clarification, the post continued to circulate widely online with claims that the actor had responded to Madhuri’s remarks.
Devotees Seek Stricter Enforcement
Meanwhile, devotees have called on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to ensure stricter enforcement of rules in the sacred hill shrine. Several voices on social media said incidents that affect the sanctity of religious places should not be repeated in the future.
The issue continues to draw attention online as discussions about temple rules and public conduct at religious sites remain ongoing.
