Telangana rains: IMD issues alert for multiple districts
IMD issues yellow alert as Telangana districts brace for rains
Rain Forecast for Three Days Across Telangana
The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall across Telangana for the next three days starting today. The change in weather is attributed to a surface trough formed over the Bay of Bengal, influencing conditions in both Telugu states.
Officials stated that several districts are likely to receive rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning till March 30. The department has issued a yellow alert for multiple regions in view of the expected weather activity.
Districts Under Alert and Weather Conditions
Rainfall is expected in Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts.
Authorities have warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and possible lightning strikes in isolated areas. Wind speeds ranging between 30 to 50 kmph are also likely during this period.
Hyderabad Likely to See Evening Showers
In Hyderabad city, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy during the day. Officials indicated that light to moderate rainfall may occur during the evening or night hours.
Similar weather conditions were observed on Friday, when several parts of the city received rain after a hot day, bringing temporary relief to residents.
Heatwave Conditions Continue Alongside Rain
Despite the forecast of rainfall, heat conditions continue to persist across the state. On Friday (March 27), Hyderabad recorded high temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius in several areas.
Residents have been experiencing intense heat from early morning hours, with peak conditions observed by afternoon. The rising temperatures have forced people to stay indoors and rely on cooling systems.
Advisory on Heat and Weather Changes
The Meteorological Department has cautioned that heat intensity may increase further in the coming days. Along with high temperatures, there is also a possibility of hot winds in some areas.
People have been advised to remain alert due to the combined impact of heatwave conditions and sudden weather changes, including thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Context: Seasonal Transition Brings Mixed Conditions
Weather patterns during this period often bring a mix of high temperatures and pre-monsoon showers. Such fluctuations can lead to sudden changes in local conditions, especially during evening hours.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and issue alerts to minimise risks associated with lightning, strong winds, and extreme heat.
