Telangana Outsourcing Jobs Cancelled as Finance Department Moves Files
Telangana Outsourcing Jobs Cancelled as the Finance Department initiates action to discontinue outsourcing services across multiple state government departments.
Around 30,000 employees working in Panchayat Raj, Revenue, Municipal, Marketing, and Health departments are likely to be affected. Officials indicated that continuation orders have not been issued for nearly five to six months, resulting in pending salaries.
Telangana Outsourcing Jobs Cancelled: Impact on 30,000 Employees
The decision follows the appointment of nearly 10,000 newly selected candidates through Group-3, Group-4, and other recruitment boards. According to senior officials, these new appointments have led to the removal of outsourcing staff from corresponding posts.
However, there remains a difference of nearly 20,000 positions between newly appointed staff and those whose continuation orders were not issued. Therefore, concerns have intensified among temporary employees and their families.
Employees have expressed fear that sudden termination would severely affect their livelihoods.
Process Began Under Bogus Employee Verification
According to official data with the Finance Department, nearly 4.93 lakh contract and outsourcing staff work across various departments in the state.
Initially, the verification process began under suspicion of bogus employees. The department directed all contract and outsourcing workers to update their Aadhaar-linked details, stating that salaries would be credited only after completion.
Following verification, no significant irregularities were reportedly found. However, employees allege that the ongoing process is now being used to reduce financial burden by limiting outsourcing positions.
Officials have reportedly withheld finance clearance for continuation files submitted by various departments.
Departments Facing Operational Impact
The impact extends beyond the Revenue and Panchayat Raj departments. Transco, Genco, Discoms, Registration, Excise, Commercial Taxes, Transport, RTC, and Municipal departments are also witnessing reductions.
Nearly 1,500 Mandal and Cluster Computer Operators face uncertainty due to a lack of financial clearance. Senior officials have reportedly instructed that Panchayat Secretaries and GPOs may handle these responsibilities.
In the Revenue Department, around 1,200 data entry operators and related staff are being removed. These employees handle election duties, voter list revisions, land records purification (LRUP), Webland registration, and ILRMS tasks.
They also manage disaster damage entries and the issuance of certificates to students.
Officials acknowledge that large-scale removal could slow daily administrative work. Balancing fiscal rationalisation and employee continuation has become a key administrative challenge.
Employee unions have urged the government to consider humanitarian grounds and explore redeployment in vacant departments instead of abrupt termination.
