The Telangana High Court has set aside the accident case registered in connection with an incident that occurred during Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to Bhadrachalam on 11-03-2024.
The case pertained to a convoy movement during the Chief Minister’s tour, when a pilot or escort vehicle reportedly hit the then Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP). Following the incident, Bhadrachalam Police registered an accident case against ARPC Vadluri Rajesh.
Criminal Quash Petition Filed
Seeking legal relief, Vadluri Rajesh approached Bhadrachalam-based advocate B.V. Karthik. After examining the case records, the advocate identified what he argued were legal inconsistencies and factual aspects relating to the nature of the incident.
A criminal quash petition was subsequently filed before the Telangana High Court. During the hearing, Advocate B.V. Karthik presented arguments stating that the incident formed part of an unforeseen accident linked to convoy movement and did not warrant continuation of criminal proceedings.
Court Orders Case Closure
Taking the submissions into consideration, the High Court on 17-02-2026 issued orders quashing the case. The court’s decision effectively brings an end to the criminal proceedings initiated against Vadluri Rajesh in connection with the accident.
With the case now closed, Rajesh has received legal relief after nearly two years since the incident occurred.
Members of the legal fraternity in the region have noted the outcome of the case, particularly in the context of procedural scrutiny and interpretation of accident-related liability during official convoy movements.
The incident had drawn attention at the time due to its occurrence during a high-security visit involving the Chief Minister’s convoy in Bhadrachalam.
