Telangana Government Prepares for MPTC, ZPTC Elections

The Telangana government is moving towards conducting elections for vacant MPTC and ZPTC posts across the state. A key review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with senior officials on Tuesday is expected to provide clarity on the election schedule and administrative preparedness.

The meeting assumes significance as these local body positions have remained vacant after the previous governing terms ended. At present, all such institutions are under official administration. The government aims to complete the electoral process swiftly and restore elected local governance.

Single-Phase Poll Plan Under Consideration

The administration is examining the possibility of holding the elections in a single phase. Officials are working on a plan to complete the entire process within 15 to 20 days. The intention is to reduce pressure on the administrative machinery and enable the government to quickly refocus on governance priorities.
