The Telangana Education Department has announced that all schools in the state will operate on a half-day schedule from March 16. The decision is part of administrative planning for the academic calendar and examination period, officials confirmed.
Under the revised timings, regular classes will be conducted from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Midday meals will be served to students at 12:30 pm, ensuring continuation of the nutrition programme while adjusting school hours.

Revised Timings for Schools With Exam Centres
In schools that are designated as Class 10 examination centres, academic activities will continue in the afternoon. Classes in these institutions will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm to accommodate examination-related arrangements without disrupting regular learning schedules.
The adjusted schedule is aimed at balancing classroom teaching and logistical requirements during the examination period. Authorities stated that the arrangement will remain in place as long as examinations are ongoing.

Director of School Education Naveen Nicolas stated that special classes will be organised for Class 10 students during the examination period. These sessions are intended to support students academically and help them prepare effectively for their board examinations.
