TDP Observes NTR Death Anniversary, Naidu Targets YSRCP
TDP marks NTR’s 30th death anniversary at party headquarters
The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday observed the 30th death anniversary of party founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao at its central office, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh paying floral tributes.
Senior ministers, MLAs, party leaders, and workers attended the programme, which was held as a formal tribute to the leader widely regarded as a symbol of Telugu self-respect.

‘Governance inspired by NTR’s ideals’
Addressing party leaders and workers, Chandrababu Naidu said the current coalition government was drawing inspiration from the principles laid down by NTR. He described the late leader as a mass icon who reshaped Andhra Pradesh politics and gave a strong voice to Telugu identity at the national level.
Naidu said NTR’s emphasis on welfare, dignity, and decentralised governance continued to guide the party’s political and administrative approach.
Sharp criticism of YSRCP governance
During his address, the Chief Minister launched a pointed attack on the YSR Congress Party, referring to actions taken against him during the previous regime. He recalled restrictions imposed at his residence and said such measures had ultimately turned into political setbacks for those who ordered them.
Without naming individuals, Naidu accused the YSRCP leadership of adopting an authoritarian style and said recent political developments reflected public rejection of that approach.
Blood donation camp marks the occasion
As part of the anniversary events, Chandrababu Naidu formally inaugurated a large-scale blood donation camp at the party office. The initiative saw participation from party cadres, elected representatives, and youth volunteers, and was presented as a social service activity in memory of NTR.
Party leaders said the camp was intended to combine remembrance with public service, a principle often associated with the party’s founder.
Departure for World Economic Forum
Later in the day, Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh departed for the World Economic Forum in Davos along with a delegation of ministers and senior officials. The visit is aimed at promoting Andhra Pradesh as an investment destination and engaging with global business leaders.
The anniversary programme concluded with party leaders reiterating their commitment to NTR’s legacy and political vision.
