Jewellery Discovered During Garbage Collection
According to local information, Selvi came across the gold ornaments while sorting through garbage during her regular work.
The jewellery had reportedly been accidentally discarded by children from the owner’s household. The valuables ended up in the waste collection area without the family noticing the mistake.
After discovering the ornaments, Selvi immediately informed officials and sought assistance to locate the owners.
Police Help Trace the Owners
With the help of the local police, the jewellery was traced back to the family that had lost it. The authorities verified the ownership before facilitating the return of the valuables.
Once the process was completed, Selvi personally handed over the jewellery to the owners.

Owners Reward Worker for Honesty
The family that owned the jewellery acknowledged Selvi’s actions and expressed appreciation for her integrity.
As a gesture of gratitude, they presented her with a reward of ₹20,000.
Local residents and officials praised the sanitation worker for her decision to return the valuables rather than keep them.
Previous Instances of Honesty Among Workers
The incident has also highlighted the conduct of sanitation workers in the region.
