The first look of Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, was unveiled on January 26, officially confirming the on-screen reunion of the two actors after seven years. The film was earlier referred to as VD14 and marks their first collaboration since Dear Comrade.
The release of the first look generated wide attention, both for its visual scale and for bringing back a popular pairing that last appeared together in 2019.

The imagery positions the film as a historical action drama rooted in rebellion, with the makers indicating an attempt to revisit episodes from the colonial era that are less explored in mainstream cinema.
Story Draws From 19th Century Events
Ranabaali is set in the 19th century and is inspired by real events that took place between 1854 and 1878. The film is framed around resistance to British rule, with the central character portrayed as a symbol of defiance.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, a key character in the narrative. The cast also includes international actor Arnold Vosloo, who appears as Sir Theodore Hector, representing the colonial authority within the story.
Music for the film is composed by Ajay-Atul, marking their collaboration with the Telugu film industry on a large-scale period project.
Production and Release Plans
The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner and is presented by T-Series. The makers have planned a multilingual theatrical release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
The theatrical release date has been fixed for September 11, 2026.
