The hundi collections from the Samakka–Saralamma Medaram Jathara have reached ₹6.04 crore within the first two days of counting, reflecting continued large-scale offerings by devotees. Officials confirmed that hundi counting is progressing in phases as part of the post-festival financial process.
The counting activity is being conducted under administrative supervision, with collections being documented and deposited systematically.
Day Two Collections and Counting Status
Out of a total of 828 hundis, authorities have opened 285 hundis so far. On the second day alone, collections amounted to ₹3.54 crore. In addition, ₹63,436 was recorded from foreign currency exchange during the same period.
Officials confirmed that the ₹3.54 crore collected on Day Two has already been deposited in banks as part of routine financial handling procedures.
Gold, Silver, and Remaining Counting
Authorities stated that gold and silver offerings collected during the Jathara have been secured separately under supervision. These valuables are being documented and safeguarded before further processing.
Coin counting has not yet begun, and officials indicated that it will be taken up in the subsequent phase of the counting process. The overall counting exercise is expected to continue until all hundis are opened and verified.

The Medaram Jathara, one of the largest tribal festivals in the region, draws significant devotee participation and offerings each year. The hundi counting process is carried out in stages to ensure accuracy, transparency, and proper financial management.
