Temple Authorities Conduct Medaram Hundi Counting
Temple Authorities Begin Medaram Hundi Counting at Hanumakonda
The counting of hundi offerings from the Medaram Jatara has commenced at the Tirumala Tirupati Kalyana Mandapam in Hanumakonda, with officials initiating the process under organized supervision. A total of 500 personnel have been deployed to carry out the counting and segregation work in a systematic manner.
On the first day of counting, authorities opened and processed 125 hundis. The collections from these hundis amounted to ₹2.49 crore, officials confirmed after the day’s accounting was completed. The counting process is being conducted in phases, with strict procedures in place to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Ten-Day Counting Schedule for All Hundi Offerings
Officials stated that a total of 828 hundis collected during the Medaram Jatara will be counted over a period of ten days. The counting is being carried out in batches each day to manage the large volume of offerings received during the festival.
The Medaram Jatara, known for drawing massive crowds, traditionally records significant contributions from devotees. The hundi counting process reflects the scale of participation and religious devotion associated with the event.
Authorities indicated that the counting process will continue daily until all hundis are opened and recorded. Each day’s tally is being documented and verified through designated procedures followed by the temple administration staff.
Segregation of Coins, Cash, and Rice Underway
Alongside the counting process, officials are also segregating the offerings into different categories. Cash, coins, and rice received from devotees are being separated individually as part of the accounting procedure.
Officials noted that a substantial portion of the offerings consists of coins, which require additional time for sorting and counting. Dedicated teams have been assigned specifically for coin separation due to the large volume received.
Rice offerings, which form a traditional part of devotional contributions during the Medaram Jatara, are also being collected and stored separately. This segregation process is being carried out simultaneously with the counting of cash to streamline the overall operation.
Organised Supervision and Administrative Oversight
The hundi counting process is being conducted under the supervision of the temple and administrative authorities. Officials emphasized that proper verification and monitoring mechanisms are in place to ensure that the counting remains transparent and orderly throughout the ten-day schedule.
Personnel involved in the process are working in shifts to maintain continuity and prevent delays. The arrangement has been made to handle the large number of hundis efficiently while ensuring accurate recording of collections.
Authorities reiterated that the counting will continue as per the planned schedule until all 828 hundis are processed. Daily updates on the counting figures will be maintained as part of the official documentation.
Revenue Reflects Devotee Participation
The first-day collection of ₹2.49 crore reflects the scale of contributions made by devotees during the Medaram Jatara. Officials indicated that further counting in the coming days will determine the total revenue generated from hundi offerings this year.
The counting process remains ongoing at the Tirumala Tirupati Kalyana Mandapam in Hanumakonda, with administrative teams continuing the work under established procedures.
