KTR allegations on Revanth Reddy house in FTL
KTR allegations on Revanth Reddy house in FTL Trigger Political Row
KTR allegations on Revanth Reddy house in FTL have intensified political tensions in Telangana after sharp remarks by BRS leadership targeting the Chief Minister over alleged buffer zone violations.
Speaking at a party interaction, K. T. Rama Rao questioned whether authorities would act against properties linked to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy if they fall under Full Tank Level (FTL) limits.
Background of the Dispute
According to KTR, a house linked to Revanth Reddy in Kodangal is allegedly located within an FTL area. He further alleged that a property belonging to Revanth Reddy’s brother Tirupati Reddy falls under the FTL of Durgam Cheruvu.
Additionally, he claimed that a house belonging to Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy is situated within the buffer zone of Himayat Sagar. KTR also alleged that the residence of Government Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy is located in the middle of a lake.
Telangana Buffer Zone Demolition Drive Under Scrutiny
KTR alleged that while the government acts strictly against houses of economically weaker sections, it has not initiated similar action against properties linked to influential leaders. He questioned whether the administration has the “courage” to demolish such structures if violations are confirmed.
Referring to the Telangana buffer zone demolition drive, KTR raised concerns over the expansion of the buffer zone from 7 metres earlier to 50 metres now. He asked how the buffer zone rules were revised and on what basis the change was implemented.
According to him, enforcing a 50-metre buffer zone could lead to the demolition of nearly 1.5 lakh houses, potentially displacing thousands of families. He questioned what the government aims to achieve through such large-scale action.
Official Response Awaited
There has been no immediate official response from the Chief Minister’s Office regarding the allegations. The controversy adds to the ongoing political confrontation between the ruling Congress government and the BRS.
As the debate continues, clarity on FTL demarcation, lake protection norms, and buffer zone regulations is expected to shape the next phase of political discourse in the state.
