Family Trip Ends in Fatal Accident Near Destination

A late-night car accident in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district claimed the life of a woman and left four others seriously injured on January 27, cutting short a family visit that was minutes away from its destination.

The incident occurred just 50 metres from a relative’s residence in Mahatmanagar, adding to the shock and distress among locals who rushed to the spot after hearing the impact.

Journey from Mancherial District

The family, residents of Sirpur Kagaznagar in Mancherial district, had set out earlier in the evening to visit relatives in Karimnagar district. They were travelling by car and reached Mahatmanagar around midnight.

With only a few minutes remaining to reach the house, the vehicle was nearing the end of the journey when the accident occurred.

Loss of Control While Avoiding Lorry

As the car proceeded along the road in Thimmapur, the driver attempted to avoid an oncoming lorry. In the process, the vehicle went out of control and veered off the road.

The car rammed into a roadside tree at high speed. The force of the collision caused severe damage to the vehicle.

Woman Dies on the Spot

One woman travelling in the car died at the scene due to the impact. The remaining four occupants sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Residents in the area, alerted by the loud noise of the collision, rushed to the location and found the vehicle badly damaged.

Injured Shifted to Hospital

With the help of local residents, the injured were quickly removed from the car and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition was described as serious.

The sudden loss and the proximity of the accident site to the family’s destination cast a pall of grief over the locality.

The accident has drawn attention to the risks of late-night travel on district roads, particularly in areas with limited visibility and heavy vehicle movement.
