JEE Main 2026 Admit Cards Released for January Exams
Admit Cards Issued for First Phase of January Exams
The National Testing Agency on January 17 released the admit cards for JEE Main 2026 Session 1, marking the first formal step for candidates scheduled to appear in the January examination window. The hall tickets are available for download on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The release currently covers candidates appearing for examinations scheduled between January 21 and January 24. Admit cards for candidates allotted examination dates on January 28 and 29 will be issued separately at a later stage, the agency clarified.
Exam Dates and Shift Timings Outlined
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination will be conducted over six days — January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29. For the first four days, Paper 1 will be held in two shifts daily. The morning shift will run from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Candidates have been advised to carefully check the date, shift, and paper mentioned on their admit cards before reporting to the examination centre. Any mismatch or confusion, officials noted, could lead to avoidable issues on the day of the exam.
Paper 2 Scheduled on Final Day
Paper 2 of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted on the final day of the examination window, January 29. The test will be held in a single shift from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Only candidates registered for Paper 2 are required to appear on that day.
The examination is being conducted by the National Testing Agency, which has reiterated that all official updates will be communicated only through the JEE Main website.
City Intimation Slips Already Released
Prior to the release of the admit cards, the agency had issued advance intimation slips informing candidates of their allotted exam cities. These slips remain accessible on the official portal and are meant to help candidates plan travel and accommodation in advance.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for further updates related to remaining admit cards and examination instructions.
