The International Cricket Council (ICC), led by Jay Shah, has declined multiple proposals submitted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The proposals related to bilateral and multi-national cricket engagements, along with requests concerning revenue and participation in ICC events.
The decision follows a review of the demands placed by the PCB regarding upcoming international cricket schedules and tournament arrangements.
Tri-Nation Series and Bilateral Series Requests Rejected
Among the proposals, the PCB had suggested organising a tri-nation series involving India and Bangladesh. The board also pushed for India to tour Bangladesh later this year as part of a broader regional cricket engagement plan.
In addition, the PCB sought approval for a bilateral cricket series with India. The ICC did not accept these proposals, maintaining its current stance on international scheduling and bilateral arrangements.
Revenue and Participation Assurances Not Accepted
The PCB had also requested clarity on revenue distribution and participation guarantees in ICC events. These demands were reviewed but were not approved under the present framework governing ICC tournaments and member participation.
The outcome reflects the ICC’s position on maintaining established tournament structures and existing policies related to member boards.
Developments Follow Ongoing Regional Cricket Discussions
The latest decision comes amid continuing discussions around international cricket participation and scheduling. Earlier developments related to Pakistan’s cricket administration and ICC engagements were covered in a related report on Pakistan government directive on ICC T20 participation.
With the proposals declined, the current international cricket calendar and tournament framework remain unchanged. The ICC is expected to continue operating within its existing governance and scheduling structure.
