A disturbing incident was reported from Kukatpally in Hyderabad, where a woman’s body was kept inside an apartment for four days following her death due to illness. The deceased was identified as Shailaja, aged 43, who passed away after suffering from health complications.
Instead of performing the last rites, family members reportedly believed she would be revived through divine intervention. This belief led to the body being retained inside the residence while continuous prayers were conducted for several days.

Superstition Leads to Tension in the Apartment
According to available information, Shailaja’s mother, Shamanthakamani, and siblings Sunitha and Jayaram kept the body at home, convinced that Jesus would bring her back to life. During this period, they continued prayers without initiating funeral procedures.
Residents of the apartment raised concern after a foul smell began spreading from the flat. Neighbours urged the family to conduct the last rites, but the family reportedly refused, and arguments followed, creating tension in the residential complex.
Police Step In, Body Shifted to Native Place

As the situation escalated, local residents alerted the police. Officers reached the apartment and intervened to resolve the matter. Following police involvement, the body was removed from the residence and transported to the family’s native place, Kaikaluru in Andhra Pradesh, for final rites.
