A case of sexual assault on a Class 8 student was reported under the Narsingi Police Station limits on the city outskirts. Serilingampally DCP Chintamaneni Srinivas briefed that the 15-year-old from Puppalaguda did not return home on 16 February after telling her family she was going to school. Her mother lodged a complaint with the Narsingi Police the same night.
Contact established at Charminar; girl traced to Chengicherla
Police said the girl first came in contact with a 16-year-old boy, who does footpath business at Charminar, during a shopping visit on 7 February. He took her phone number and kept in touch, asking to meet again. On 16 February, the girl went to Charminar. With special teams deployed, police used CCTV footage and technical analysis to trace her to the Chengicherla area after midnight, near a double-bedroom housing complex.
Three accused were forced to drink alcohol and threatened with a knife
Investigators found that the 16-year-old called two associates—Old City Rein Bazar-based auto driver Imran Khan, alias Shishi (24), and another minor from Talab Katta. The trio allegedly took the girl around Charminar and later to Chengicherla. Police said all three consumed alcohol and forcibly made the girl drink. She was then threatened with a knife and sexually assaulted.
Imran Khan held one minor absconding
Narsingi Police apprehended Imran Khan and one minor who was present with the girl at the location. The third accused, also a minor, is absconding. Police stated that Imran Khan is an accused in eight previous cases, including robbery, theft, and physical assaults. Further investigation is underway to locate the remaining accused and collect additional technical evidence.
Administrative follow-up and legal action
Police teams continue to examine CCTV trails across Charminar, Old City stretches, and Chengicherla. The case is being pursued under relevant provisions for sexual assault and offenses involving minors. Authorities indicated that additional charges may be added based on medical and forensic reports.
