Hyderabad Police Register Case Over Pension Fraud in Madhura Nagar
The Madhura Nagar Police in Hyderabad have registered a case after officials uncovered an alleged pension fraud involving a woman who continued withdrawing her deceased mother’s pension.
Authorities identified the accused as Renuka, who is alleged to have withdrawn ₹6.45 lakh by claiming that her mother was still alive.
Fraud Linked to TGSPDCL Employee Pension
According to officials, Renuka’s mother had previously worked with TGSPDCL (Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited).
After the employee’s death, Renuka allegedly concealed the information and continued to draw the monthly pension payments meant for the deceased.

Officials said the matter surfaced when authorities conducted internal inspections related to pension disbursement records.
During the verification, discrepancies were identified regarding the pension account linked to the deceased employee.
Further preliminary examination indicated that Renuka had withdrawn a total of ₹6.45 lakh from the pension funds.
Complaint Filed With Police
Following the findings, officials submitted a formal complaint to the Madhura Nagar Police Station, seeking action against the accused.
They requested authorities to initiate legal proceedings in connection with the alleged misappropriation of pension funds.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and began examining the details of the transactions.
