Hitman Arrested in Woman Murder Contract Killing Case
Ahmedabad Crime Branch Arrests Hitman in Raipur Woman Murder Case
Contract killing plan linked to property dispute
Raipur: A murder linked to a property dispute has come back into focus after police arrested the main accused nearly five years after the incident. The case involves a woman who had allegedly planned the killing of her elder son.
According to details, the incident occurred in 2021 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Shakuntala Yadav, along with her younger son Amit Yadav, had conspired to eliminate her elder son due to a dispute over property.
A deal was made with a hired killer
The two reportedly approached a hospital security guard known to them, identified as Mishra, and finalised a deal for Rs 4 lakh. An advance of Rs 1 lakh was paid to carry out the murder.
After taking the advance, Mishra left for his village and did not return. When confronted later, he assured them that he would repay the amount.
A woman was killed, and cash and gold were looted
A few days later, Mishra returned to Raipur along with an associate, Ketan Tiwari. They went to Shakuntala Yadav’s house and found her alone at the time.
The accused allegedly strangled her using a rope and killed her. They then looted Rs 10 lakh in cash and gold jewellery from the house before fleeing.
Accused evades arrest for years
Police registered a case of murder and robbery and began an investigation. Mishra managed to evade arrest for several years by frequently changing locations.
He reportedly avoided using mobile phones and did not use identity documents such as PAN or Aadhaar. In 2022, he reached Ahmedabad in Gujarat and settled in the Naroda area without drawing attention.
Arrest made after tracking inputs
Based on specific information, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch traced and arrested Mishra. Police confirmed that he had been absconding for nearly five years in connection with the case.
Officials said further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other accused involved, including his associates. The case remains under active investigation.
