A tragic incident involving a doctor’s family from Satuluru in Guntur district has come to light after three members died by suicide in Bhopal. The deceased include Kumbha Gopi, a doctor working at AIIMS Bhopal, his wife Shankara Kumari, and their three-year-old daughter Mouni.

Suicide carried out in lodge after return from hospital

As per police findings, Gopi returned from AIIMS Bhopal and later took his family to a lodge. There, all three allegedly administered sedative injections and attempted suicide.

Shankara Kumari and Mouni died at the spot, while Gopi was shifted to a hospital. He succumbed during treatment on the following day. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

WhatsApp messages reveal prior intent

During the investigation, police examined phone records and recovered WhatsApp messages exchanged between the couple. These messages suggest that the family had decided earlier to end their lives.

In one message, Gopi reportedly wrote that he and the child would die together and asked his wife to remain happy at least on her own. In response, Shankara Kumari expressed her intention to stay with him in both life and death.

Based on these findings, police believe the incident took place on Sunday as part of a planned act.
