Chiranjeevi Film Crosses ₹250 Crore Worldwide Box Office
Strong opening positions film ahead of actor’s earlier blockbusters
Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu has emerged as the highest-grossing film of Chiranjeevi’s career, crossing the ₹250 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The milestone was reached on Tuesday, marking another significant moment in the veteran actor’s long theatrical run and placing the film among the major commercial successes of recent Telugu cinema.
The film opened strongly during the Sankranthi holiday period, capitalising on festive footfalls across domestic and overseas markets. That initial momentum helped it move ahead of Chiranjeevi’s previous top earners within its first ten days in theatres.
Domestic collections slow after festive surge
After a robust start, daily collections showed a gradual decline early in the second week. On Wednesday, the film earned ₹4 crore net at the domestic box office. With ten days completed, its total domestic net stands at ₹175.65 crore, translating to a gross of ₹208.50 crore within India.
The film had opened strongly during its first week, with steady collections reported in the initial days, as detailed in the day 8 box office report.
The post-holiday slowdown was expected following a heavy opening weekend, though the film has continued to retain steady occupancy in key centres. Trade tracking indicates that weekday figures, while lower, have remained consistent enough to sustain its cumulative total.
Overseas performance lifts global tally
Overseas earnings have followed a similar pattern, with collections slowing after the first week. The film has crossed the $4.5 million mark abroad and is approaching $5 million in overseas revenue. Combined with domestic figures, this takes the worldwide gross to approximately ₹250 crore.
The producers have stated that the film’s global gross has already crossed ₹300 crore. However, even by conservative trade estimates, the current numbers are sufficient to establish the film as Chiranjeevi’s biggest commercial success, surpassing Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.
Race towards Telugu cinema’s top ten
As of Wednesday, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu ranks as the 14th highest-grossing Telugu film of all time. It trails Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Sarileru Neekevvaru, both of which it is expected to overtake before the second weekend begins.
If weekend collections provide a fresh push, the film could cross the ₹275 crore mark, putting it within reach of the all-time top ten list. Currently, the tenth position is held by OG, with worldwide earnings of ₹293 crore.
Film details and release
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the action entertainer features Nayanthara in a key role and includes an extended cameo by Daggubati Venkatesh. The film released on Monday, January 12, ahead of the Sankranthi holidays, a slot that has traditionally favoured big-ticket Telugu releases.
