Chandrababu speaks on Hyderabad growth at ISB event
Hyderabad, March 22: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu spoke about his role in the development of Hyderabad during his address at the South Asia Learning Summit held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Gachibowli on Sunday.
During his speech, he stated that significant efforts were made under his leadership to transform Hyderabad into a global city. He referred to key initiatives undertaken during his tenure to position the city as a major economic and educational hub.
Claims on infrastructure and institutional expansion
Naidu highlighted that he played a key role in bringing the Indian School of Business to Hyderabad. He also stated that around 5,000 acres of land were acquired for the development of the Shamshabad airport.
He further mentioned the establishment of institutions such as NALSAR and IIIT, stating that these developments contributed to strengthening the city’s academic and infrastructure base.
Water supply initiatives cited
The Chief Minister also referred to steps taken to address Hyderabad’s drinking water needs. He stated that Krishna river water was brought to the city within nine months to resolve water supply issues.
This initiative, according to him, helped stabilise the city’s water availability during a period of rapid growth.


Engagement with global industry leaders
Naidu also spoke about efforts to attract global investment to Hyderabad. He stated that he had met Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and persuaded him to establish an office in the city.
The remarks were made in the context of positioning Hyderabad as a destination for global businesses and technology firms.
