BRS Slams Revanth Reddy Over Remarks on Party Symbols
BRS Targets Chief Minister Over Political Remarks
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of making remarks that, according to the party, undermine constitutional responsibility and public order. The criticism follows statements allegedly made by the Chief Minister at a public meeting, which BRS leaders say amount to encouraging vandalism of party symbols.
Senior BRS figures questioned whether such comments were appropriate from a Chief Minister who also holds charge of the Home Department.
Law and Order Concerns Raised
The opposition party alleged that the Chief Minister’s remarks signal a failure to uphold the constitutional duty of maintaining law and order. BRS leaders said Telangana, which they claim was previously cited as a model state for policing and internal security, is now witnessing a deterioration in governance standards.
They accused the present administration of opening the door to disorder and claimed that the state is being pushed into an atmosphere of instability.
Charge of Political Frustration
BRS leaders further alleged that the Chief Minister’s comments reflect political frustration, pointing to what they described as growing public dissatisfaction with the Congress government’s performance over the past two years. According to the party, electoral setbacks and administrative challenges have resulted in what they termed “erratic political conduct” by the ruling leadership.
They claimed that public support for the BRS and its party symbol continues to remain strong across Telangana.
Demand for Police Action
Raising the issue of selective law enforcement, the BRS demanded that the police and the Director General of Police take cognisance of the Chief Minister’s remarks. The party argued that ordinary citizens face swift legal action for social media posts, while statements made by those in power go unchecked.
The opposition said this disparity erodes public confidence in the police system and called for equal application of the law.
Allegations of Political Collusion
The BRS also alleged that the Chief Minister was engaging in contradictory political alignments, accusing him of echoing narratives associated with the Telugu Desam Party despite leading a Congress government. The party further claimed that decisions affecting Telangana’s water resources and interests were being influenced by external political pressures.
According to the BRS, these actions expose what it described as “covert politics” that have caused long-term damage to the state.
Warning of Political Consequences
Concluding its statement, the BRS warned that any attempt to weaken regional political forces through alliances or backroom arrangements would be firmly resisted by the people of Telangana. The party asserted that the Chief Minister would be held politically accountable for what it termed as governance failures and betrayal of state interests.
