BRS leaders stage a protest, demand a probe into Raghava Constructions mining
Protest held at Gun Park over mining allegations
BRS MLAs and MLCs staged a protest at Gun Park in Hyderabad, demanding action over alleged illegal mining linked to Raghava Constructions. The company is associated with Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and the party sought the formation of a House committee to examine the issue.
The protest was led by BRS working president K T Rama Rao and former minister, BRS deputy floor leader Harish Rao. Several legislators participated, holding placards and raising slogans against the government.
March from Gun Park to the Assembly
After assembling at Gun Park, BRS leaders and legislators marched towards the Assembly. The protest continued along the route, with participants maintaining their demand for an inquiry into the alleged irregularities.
The demonstration drew attention as senior leaders joined the march, highlighting the party’s position on the issue inside and outside the Assembly.
KTR questions the delay in action
Speaking during the protest, K T Rama Rao questioned why no action had been taken against Raghava Constructions despite allegations of illegal mining. He stated that Harish Rao had presented evidence in the Assembly a day earlier.
KTR also pointed out that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had acknowledged that irregularities had taken place. He questioned why action was yet to follow despite this admission.
Allegations against the minister and the Chief Minister
BRS leaders alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had links with Raghava Constructions. They claimed this was the reason Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was being defended.
KTR alleged that efforts were being made to protect the minister’s family. He questioned why there should be hesitation in facing an inquiry if no wrongdoing had occurred.
Demand for dismissal and inquiry
BRS members demanded the immediate dismissal of Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. They reiterated their demand for a House committee to investigate the alleged illegal mining activities linked to Raghava Constructions.
The protest reflects the ongoing confrontation between the ruling government and opposition BRS over allegations raised during the current Assembly session.
