BRS Rejects Claims of Harish Rao Joining BJP, Calls Reports Baseless
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has firmly dismissed speculation suggesting that senior party leader and former minister Harish Rao is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Party leaders described the reports circulating on social media as completely false and motivated by vested interests.
In a strong rebuttal, the BRS clarified that the claims were nothing more than irresponsible rumours being spread for political mileage and had no basis in reality.
Party Urges Public to Ignore Rumours
Reacting to the online chatter, BRS leaders appealed to the public not to believe what they termed as “fabricated narratives.” They asserted that such misinformation was deliberately being pushed to create confusion among party workers and supporters.
The leadership emphasised that the party remains united and focused on rebuilding its strength with the immediate goal of returning to power in Telangana.
Focus on Party Unity and Leadership
BRS leaders reiterated that the party’s priority is to work collectively towards restoring K. Chandrashekar Rao as Chief Minister. They called on party cadres to stay disciplined and remain committed to organisational strengthening rather than being distracted by unfounded claims.
Clarification on Amit Shah Meeting Speculation
The rumours gained momentum following reports that Harish Rao had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with some social media posts alleging that as many as 17 MLAs were preparing to join the BJP.
The BRS categorically denied these claims, stating that there was no truth to the reports and no such political developments were taking place within the party.
