Chityal Police Register SC/ST Atrocity Case Against Bhupalpally MLA PA
Police in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district have registered a case against Srinivas, the personal assistant of Bhupalapally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, following allegations that he cheated a Dalit woman after promising marriage. The case was filed after a complaint from the victim’s family.
According to police, the accused allegedly developed a relationship with the woman and later refused to marry her. The matter came to light after the woman’s family approached authorities and lodged a formal complaint at the Chityal Police Station.
Allegations of Cheating Under Promise of Marriage
Family members of the victim alleged that Srinivas used his position and influence while working as the personal assistant to Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao. They stated that he met the Dalit woman, a native of Chityal mandal, in Hanumakonda.
Over time, the two reportedly developed a relationship and decided to get married. The relationship continued for a considerable period, according to the family’s account.
However, the situation changed when Srinivas allegedly fixed a marriage alliance with another woman from a police family. The development triggered objections from the victim’s family, who then approached the police.
Complaint Filed at Chityal Police Station
After learning about the new marriage arrangement, the victim’s family lodged a complaint against Srinivas at the Chityal Police Station. The complaint accused him of cheating the woman under the pretext of marriage.
Local elders also attempted to mediate the issue through a community meeting. During the discussion, Srinivas reportedly refused to marry the woman.

Following the complaint, police initiated legal action against the accused. Chityal Circle Inspector Mallesh Yadav confirmed that a case was registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act along with charges related to cheating the woman.
Police subsequently sent Srinivas to remand as part of the legal proceedings. Authorities stated that the investigation into the case is being carried out based on the complaint and statements recorded during the inquiry.
