A meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao concluded in Amaravati, with discussions centered on interstate infrastructure and administrative matters. The leaders reviewed progress on the proposed Pandurangapuram–Sarapaka–Bhadrachalam–Kovvur railway line, which has been under consideration for improving transport and regional connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Railway Link and Transport Connectivity Discussed
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao stated that railway connectivity, including coal transportation and related facilities, formed an important part of the discussion. Strengthening rail infrastructure was highlighted as essential for improving logistics and supporting industrial and regional needs.
The meeting also addressed broader transport linkages between the two states, with a focus on enhancing road networks to support smoother interstate movement.
Polavaram Mandals and Boundary Concerns Raised
Issues linked to the Polavaram project were also discussed during the meeting. Seven mandals were earlier transferred in connection with the project, and related administrative aspects were reviewed in the talks.
The Telangana side raised a request concerning the Bhadrachalam border, seeking the inclusion of five villages into Telangana. The matter was placed for consideration during the discussions between the two sides.
Requests on Tirumala Land Allocation
During the meeting, a proposal was also put forward requesting the allocation of five acres of land for Telangana in Tirumala. The discussion formed part of broader interstate coordination efforts covering infrastructure, connectivity, and administrative concerns.
The meeting concluded with both sides reviewing pending interstate matters, focusing on connectivity, project-related coordination, and regional development priorities.
