A suicide attempt involving an entire family was averted in Palnadu district after timely police intervention. The incident involved Amar Nath, a resident of Durgi in Macherla constituency, who was reportedly under severe debt.
Unable to cope with alleged harassment from money lenders, he decided to take the extreme step along with his family members.
Family Leaves Home in Car
Amar Nath reportedly took his wife, five-year-old son, and three-year-old daughter in a car and left home with the intention of ending their lives. The situation escalated quickly as the family moved out of the village.
During the journey, his wife managed to send a message to her parental family, alerting them about the situation.
Alert Leads to Swift Police Action
Upon receiving the message, her relatives immediately approached the police seeking urgent help. Acting on the information, police began efforts to trace the vehicle.
Narasaraopet Rural Sub-Inspector Kishore led the operation, coordinating with his team to locate and intercept the car before any harm could occur.
Vehicle Tracked, Family Rescued
Police successfully traced the moving vehicle and chased it down. The family was safely rescued before any attempt to carry out the suicide plan could be executed.
The timely response ensured that all four members were brought back without injuries.
