Telangana Unemployed Groups Plan Hyderabad Protest March
Unemployed Groups Plan Protest March in Hyderabad Demanding Job Notifications
Protest Call Ahead of Budget Session
Unemployed groups in Telangana have announced a series of protest programmes beginning Friday, aiming to intensify pressure on the state government over pending job notifications. The agitation will continue until March 15 with multiple demonstrations planned in Hyderabad.
The protests are being organised to demand recruitment notifications and the announcement of two lakh government jobs in the Assembly. Leaders of unemployed associations say the programmes are intended to highlight growing frustration among job aspirants across the state.
March From Dilsukhnagar With Books
As part of the agitation schedule, an “Unemployed March” will be held at 10 am on Friday, starting from Dilsukhnagar. Participants are expected to carry books during the march as a symbolic gesture representing job aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.
Organisers said unemployed youth from different districts of Telangana are expected to participate in large numbers. The programme is being planned on the lines of a “Million March”, with calls for students and aspirants from across the state to gather in Hyderabad.
Planned Protests at TGPSC and Assembly
The protest calendar includes demonstrations at the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) office on Saturday. On Sunday, protesters announced plans to march towards the Assembly as part of their agitation.
The protesters are also demanding the immediate cancellation of government orders numbered 4, 46, 29, and 108, which they claim have become a major obstacle for unemployed youth in the state.
Job Calendar and Election Promises Questioned
Unemployed groups have accused the Congress government of failing to honour commitments made during the Assembly elections. According to the protesters, the party had promised two lakh jobs annually and the release of a job calendar every year.
They have also raised questions over the assurances made by Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Ashoknagar before the elections. At that time, he had said the issues faced by unemployed youth would be resolved once the party came to power.
Delay in Recruitment Notifications
Protest leaders have alleged that the job calendar announced in the Assembly in August 2024 has effectively turned into a “bogus” promise as recruitment notifications have not been issued.
They are demanding immediate notifications for several recruitments, including Groups, Sub-Inspector posts, Police Constables, Mega DSC, and various posts in the electricity department, such as AE, SE, JLM, AEE, FBO, and GPO.
With the Assembly budget session scheduled to begin on Monday, the protesters have reiterated their demand that the government formally announce the recruitment of two lakh jobs.
Leaders of unemployed associations said the protests would continue despite any restrictions imposed by police authorities.
